Fourth of July Fellowship

Fellowship Activity for July: Fourth of July Concert at Spiegel Grove

The Independence Day concert at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museum (Spiegel Grove) in Fremont provides a great opportunity for fun and fellowship. The concert, which is from 2:00 – 3:30 on Tuesday the 4th, features the Toledo Symphony Concert Band performing on the veranda of President Hayes’ home. A highlight of the concert is the performance of the 1812 Overture accompanied by cannon fire provided by a Civil War reenactment group.

Admission to the concert is free. Come early with a blanket or chairs for seating on the lawn (allow enough time to park and get to the lawn), and bring a picnic if you so choose. Food trucks will be on-site for lunch and snacks. Parking is on the grounds (if you’re early enough), on nearby streets, and at Pro Medica Memorial Hospital lots at Buildings A and B at 605 Third Ave.

We will save space for St. Tim’s, so please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board so we know how much space to save. If you will not be at St. Tim’s, please contact Susan Winters at 412-780-1048 or grwii@roadrunner.com to reserve space. (Note that we will only be able to save it for so long before we have to give it up.)
