Compline Service
St. Tim’s offers candlelit, chanted Compline services on the second Tuesday of the month at 8pm, September–April.
The term “Compline” derives from the Latin completorium—completion of the working day. As the bedtime prayers of the church, Compline tends to be a contemplative experience that emphasizes quietness, reflection, and spiritual peace. In many convents and monasteries, it is customary to begin the “Great Silence” after Compline, during which the whole community, including guests, observes silence throughout the night until the morning service the next day. Our offering of Compline seeks to keep this contemplative spirit.
Our service follows the Order for Compline laid out in the Book of Common Prayer and is chanted by a small schola of singers. We begin and end with silence. The entire service lasts approximately 30 minutes. Congregants are welcome to join in the chanting as noted in the service bulletin or to worship in meditative silence.

St. Tim’s will be installing a rain garden on our grounds this year.
A rain garden is planted to collect rain water and allow it to soak into the ground. Planted with grasses and flowering perennials, rain gardens can be a beautiful way to reduce runoff, help filter out pollutants, and provide food and shelter for butterflies, song birds and other wildlife.
Interested folks can join us at 577 on October 22 at 3:00 PM for a tour and informational session on rain gardens. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board for those interested or feel free to call the office to register.

Join us for an afternoon of Vacation Bible School. This fellowship event is for kids, families, adults who are kids at heart, and anyone looking for a fun afternoon of relaxed fellowship!
Everyone is invited to spend a couple of hours with us for an afternoon of classic Vacation Bible School where we explore the beautiful gift of our planet. This is not a drop-off event, there must be a designated adult in charge of your child.
What will our afternoon look like?
We’ll start together and sing a song or two, play a get to know you game and have an opening prayer.
Then we’ll split into groups and cycle through three stations that all relate to our theme: a water STEM project, an earth related craft project, and a gratitude project station.
We’ll come back together to talk about what we learned and play a water game and them maybe have a water balloon fight (bring towels and play, or just cheer the competitors on).
We’ll end with another song, a closing prayer, and a make your own dirt pudding snack.
Contact the church office, office@saint-timothy.net with any questions. You can RSVP on the bulletin board or directly to Sara Ebright, saramcdavis@gmail.com

Fellowship Outing: July 4th Concert
Celebrate Fourth of July with your friends from St. Tim's
Independence Day Concert at Spiegel Grove - July 4, 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
The Independence Day concert at the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museum (Spiegel Grove) in Fremont provides a great opportunity for fun and fellowship. The concert, which is from 2:00 – 3:30 on Thursday the 4th, features the Toledo Symphony Concert Band performing on the veranda of President Hayes’ home. A highlight of the concert is the performance of the 1812 Overture accompanied by cannon fire provided by a Civil War reenactment group.
Admission to the concert is free. Come early with a blanket or chairs for seating on the lawn (allow enough time to park and get to the lawn), and bring a picnic if you so choose.
There will be space saved for St. Tim’s, so please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board so we know how much space to save. If you will not be at St. Tim’s, please contact Susan Winters at 412-780-1048 or grwii@roadrunner.com to reserve space. (Note that we will only be able to save it for so long before we have to give it up.)
Food trucks will be on-site for lunch and snacks. Parking is on the grounds (if you’re early enough), on nearby streets, and at Pro Medica Memorial Hospital lots at Buildings A and B at 605 Third Ave.
The Hayes home and museum will be available for touring from 9 AM to 5 PM, but there is an admission fee for either or both of those.
If you have any questions, please contact Susan.
Packing Party!
We’ll cap off our Period Product Drive for Solace Health and Wellness with a packing party after the 10:00 AM service on June 30. All are welcome and we’ll have snacks!
The Period Product Drive will run from May 20- June 30th.
Period poverty affects one out of four people who menstruate. Period poverty is the lack of access to safe and hygienic menstrual products during monthly periods, frequently due to affordability. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance programs (SNAP) does not allow the purchase feminine hygiene products. Not having access to needed supplies can prevent women and girls from going to work or school, or from otherwise addressing their basic needs. Please consider donating to St. Tim’s period product drive - look for the bin in the hallway. The items collected will go to Solace Health and Wellness who will then distribute them to local organizations in need. Items that will be gratefully received include:
tampons (highest priority)
pads and liners
underwear
mini hand sanitizer
There are more requested items on Solace’s Amazon Wishlist. If you have any questions please reach out to Natalie Dielman.
Nominee Watch Party
Next week the Episcopal Church will be electing a new Presiding Bishop. This Sunday June 23rd at 9:00am I invite you to join me in the library to get acquainted with the nominees and hear them discuss a biblical image or metaphor that resonates with this moment in the life of the church and the role of the presiding bishop.
If you cannot make it at 9:00am the videos we will watch can be found here.
