The
Flower Guild was founded in 1986 by Peggy Gifford
and Linda Clement. It's purpose is to enhance
the cross and adorn the sanctuary with beautiful
arrangements of greens and flowers. On Easter
and Christmas, the whole church may be decorated
with plants and flowers.
Guild members
work in pairs with responsibility for purchasing
and arranging the flowers, polishing the brass
containers and cleaning the Guild room. At the
end of services, Guild members take the arrangements
apart and rearrange them for delivery to the ill
and bereaved, or those confined to their homes
or hospital. Those involved in this ministry find
it very fulfilling to create a beautiful arrangement
to share with the congregation and can expect
to participate four times a year.
No specific
talents are required to become a member of the
Flower Guild other than a love of flowers and
an interest in flower arranging.

Flower Memorials
Once a year,
the Flower Guild solicits donations for its ministry
of beautifying the sanctuary with arrangements
of flowers and greens for the Sunday services.
Donations are used by the Flower Guild to cover
the cost of plant material, to purchase supplies
and containers and to cover the cost of training
its members in the art of flower arranging. Contributions
are usually designated by the donors to be in
memory of deceased loved ones or in celebration
of important events. The loved ones remembered
or events celebrated are listed in the Sunday
bulletin and remembered in the prayers of that
day. At any other time during the year, flower
memorials may be made by contacting the church office. A minimum donation of $30.00
is suggested.
