Fr. Jeff is seeking several persons to help pull together a series of “fellowship dinner/conversations” with brothers and sisters of the broader faith community (think our friends from Temple B’nai Israel, the Islamic Center, etc.). March 4th’s session is already booked with our friends of the Jewish Federation – but more structure and invitation await a team’s attention. Here’s an example of the introduction to a similar series/dinner of the Jewish Federation and a Presbyterian congregation in Toledo:
“Welcome. Tonight, we gather to break bread and engage in conversation in order to advance our friendship and increase our mutual understanding. We have many commonalities. Acts of generosity, hospitality, and the constant pursuit of social justice are shared core values. We are delighted to enjoy this collective experience. Our intention this evening is to enter into shared dialogue with open minds and open hearts, prepared to truly listen to each other and begin building bridges of understanding…”
