On Saturday, December 21 – Winter Solstice. Fourteen journeyers set out on an hour-long walk at WW Knight Preserve to take in the silence and beauty of the season and to meditate on the four Advent themes of Love, Hope, Joy, and Peace. At stops along the way, poetry readings, prayers, and thoughts were shared aloud. Afterward all were invited back to share a meal of homemade soups. We then enjoyed a beautiful harp concert by the Salzedo Duo. It was a wonderful prelude to the joy of Christmas. Thanks to all the readers on the walk, to all the soup chefs, and to Bill Kudner and Larry Jarvis for overseeing the dinner.
