Mindy Rice Withrow joins staff
of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church

St. Timothy’s announces the appointment of Mindy Rice Withrow to the rector’s staff as Director of Communications and Program Development, effective October 1, 2009.  She is a published author and marketing consultant, and most recently directed for five years the marketing communications office of an international theological seminary headquartered in Philadelphia.

Born in Wood County, Ms. Withrow was raised on her family’s working apple orchard.  She moved to Chicago in 1993 to begin undergraduate studies at the Moody Bible Institute, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in theology in 1997.  She later earned graduate credits at two seminaries while beginning her career in communications.  She has worked as a freelance writer and editor, a university copyright specialist, a magazine managing editor, a marketing communications director, and a consultant to non-profits.  In addition to Chicago, she has lived in Philadelphia and Birmingham, Alabama, and returned to Northwest Ohio in 2007.

Ms. Withrow is the author of numerous essays and reviews and is co-author with her husband of the History Lives series, a five-volume history of Christianity for ages 9-14.  She is married to historian and author Brandon Withrow, assistant professor of historical and theological studies at Winebrenner Theological Seminary in Findlay.

The Withrows have been members of St. Timothy’s for two years.  Now, in addition to being a parishioner, Ms. Withrow will be working closely with the rector and vestry to further develop parish programs and to expand the parish’s influence and reach to Perrysburg communities.  “Mindy is bringing to this position a delightfully clear mind and a focused strategic style that will help us to face the challenges before us now and in the future,” commented the Rev. Kenneth Pepin, rector of St. Timothy’s.  “With a soft-spoken surety she engages all she meets and invites them to consider a different angle, approach or direction.  She will be a great addition to the staff and a blessing to St Timothy’s.
