Advent and Christmas Programs and Services
Sunday, December 15—Advent III
Children’s Christmas Pageant (10:00 am) | The children and youth of St. Timothy’s Church engage us in a re-telling of the story that is at the heart of Christmas—God entering this world as a human child. We will share in celebrating the eucharist at the foot of Jesus’ manger crib as the pageant concludes.
Saturday, December 21— Feast of St. Thomas
Community Advent Walk – 3:30 pm, W.W. Knight Preserve | Meet in the parking lot for a family friendly guided meditative walk along the trails of the preserve, giving opportunity to reflect on the Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. How, when, where, and to whom can we reflect these in our own lives and in our community? Afterwards all are invited back to St. Timothy’s, 871 E. Boundary St., Perrysburg for a soup supper, and for those who wish, please stay for the free concert, at 7:00 pm, of Christmas themed harp music featuring the Salzedo Duo. This is an outdoor event; wear weather appropriate clothing and bring a flashlight if you have one.
St. Tim’s Discovers the Salzedo Harp Duo – 7:00 pm | Nancy Lendrim & Jody Gwinn offer music from their new release, “Claire de Noel,” and more!
Sunday, December 22—Advent IV
A Festival of Advent Lessons and Carols (10:00 am) | St. Timothy’s Parish Choir leads the congregation’s liturgy of the word in hearing (and responding musically to) the words of the prophets, forth-telling the coming of the Christ. We will share in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper in joyful anticipation of Christ’s coming again to be our Judge and Lord forever.
Christmas Eve—December 24
Christmas Celebration for Families (5:00 pm) | A celebration of Christmas designed to be “family-friendly” – including communion from the Reserved Sacrament
Music and Readings of Christmas (10:00 pm) | Enjoy instrumental, choral and congregational carols, interspersed with poetry and prose reflecting on the season, as the congregation gathers for our “midnight mass.”
The ChristMass (10:30 pm) | A “solemn”/festival celebration of the eucharist including choir, chanting, candlelight and more!
Christmas Day—December 25
